Analogue

I love seeing movies for the second time. I just saw Ocean's 11 again and it did rock. Over the next few posts, I'm going to give in to a common practice for this time of year: I'm going to chip in my $0.02 for the Best of 2001. I'll get it started tonight with the best movies of the year, IMHO.
1) Lord of the Rings (best movie I've ever seen)
2) Memento
3) Ocean's 11 (maybe because I just saw it?)
3) Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Philosopher's Stone for you Brits out there)
4) Spy Games
5) Pearl Harbor (not a misprint - highly underrated!)

One thing I've noticed so far using this is just how often moods change. I'm in a completely different place than I was just a week ago when I posted about the writer's night. So it's funny giving out small glimpses of what I'm thinking, because my frame of mind changes based on the weather, my health, recent events, conversations, even what I've eaten. And I haven't done a whole lot since last week. I went to the nexus of the universe (Americus, GA for those who didn't already know that!) and worked on a house with my Third Day brothers for Habitat for Humanity, I went to a couple of Christmas parties, worked on a song with a couple of friends of mine, and went to Indianapolis to see the Colts play the Falcons. And I've been slightly sick this whole time, which definitely has affected my frame of mind...
OK, so I just wrote out a whole entry and then deleted it with one fell swoop of the mouse. Great. Anyway, as I was saying in this gripping way that I'll never be able to recreate, I am fascinated by words. I have many words I like, such as "analogue". Hence the name of this blog. Speaking of "blog", "blog" would be an example of a word which I do NOT like. It almost deterred me from getting into blogging (ugh, I used it again). I love the idea of weblogs (a LITTLE better!), but I don't think there's a word to describe what it is. Actually, I'm not really sure what it is. OK, so I'm a word snob. I think I'm really kind of an elitist when it comes to things that I am passionate about. Words and music would definitely be two of those. I'll try to get into THAT whole thing in a future installment!
